Diesel Truck Repair in Columbia County, Oregon

When your truck is how you make your living, every day it sits broken costs you money. We repair Duramax, Powerstroke, and Cummins pickups for the contractors and crews who keep this county running.

A Truck County Needs a Truck Shop

Columbia County is blue-collar country. Look at any job site, boat launch, or gravel road around here and you'll see heavy-duty diesel pickups doing real work. They haul equipment to jobs, tow trailers, and stack up hard miles. There are plenty of diesel outfits operating in this county, and their trucks can't afford to wait a week for a diagnosis.

We treat a work truck like what it is: a tool you need back. Clear diagnosis, an honest estimate, and repairs scheduled around the reality that you have jobs to get to.

Case Study: The DEF-in-the-Tank Duramax

A customer came in with a 2020 Duramax diesel after an easy-to-make mistake with expensive consequences: DEF (diesel exhaust fluid) went into the fuel tank instead of the DEF tank, and the truck was driven until it quit. DEF is corrosive to a diesel fuel system, and running it through is about the worst thing that can happen to one of these trucks.

The fix required a complete new fuel system: fuel tank, fuel lines, lift pump, high-pressure fuel pump, and injectors. Here's the part that mattered most to the customer. We let him know the damage could be turned in as an insurance claim instead of paid out of pocket. It became a covered claim, and he got his truck back without eating a five-figure bill.

If you've just put DEF in your fuel tank: do not start the truck. Call us first. The difference between "drain and flush" and "replace the entire fuel system" is whether that pump ever ran.

Diesel Repair FAQs

What happens if DEF gets in the diesel tank?

DEF is water-based and corrosive to fuel-system components. If it's pumped through, it can destroy the lift pump, high-pressure pump, injectors, and lines. If you catch the mistake at the pump and never turn the key, the tank can often be drained and flushed for a fraction of the cost. Either way, stop and call before starting the engine.

Can a repair like that go through insurance?

Sometimes, yes. Fuel contamination can qualify as an incidental claim depending on your policy. We work with insurance claims regularly and will tell you when a repair might be claimable before you pay out of pocket.

Do you work on contractor trucks with heavy use?

That's most of what we see. Heavy towing and job-site miles are exactly what these trucks are built for. They just need maintenance that matches the workload. Tell us how you use the truck and we'll service it accordingly.
